Rooted in Routine: A Day in the Life, Texas Style

What are your daily habits?

My days usually begin with sunlight gently spilling across the Texas sky—and the smell of fresh coffee brewing in the kitchen. I like to start slow, sipping my coffee while flipping through a design sketch or jotting down ideas that came to me overnight.

From there, it’s a dance between pixels and plants. I balance screen time with soul time—working on blog posts, editing photos, or sketching new layouts, but always taking little breaks to step outside, feel the breeze, or check on our tiny herb garden.

Midday means a stretch break, sometimes a walk under the big Texas sky, and usually a second cup of coffee (because creativity runs on caffeine).

Evenings are for unplugging: a homemade meal, and sometimes just watching the sunset in silence. Every day ends with a journal entry or a quick note about something that made me smile.

They’re small rituals, but they keep me grounded—and inspired. 🌞🌿✏️

Brisket

What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten?

Definitely Texas-style smoked brisket. Slow-cooked for hours, perfectly tender, with that smoky bark and juicy flavor — it was pure barbecue perfection. In Texas, brisket isn’t just food; it’s a way of life.

Describe one of your favorite moments.

One of my favorite moments was watching the sunset on a quiet beach during a family vacation. The sky slowly turned shades of orange, pink, and purple, and everything felt calm and peaceful. I remember sitting there with my loved ones, just enjoying the moment without saying much. It reminded me how beautiful simple things can be and how important it is to pause and be present.

How important is spirituality in your life?

How important is spirituality in your life?

Spirituality plays a meaningful role in my life, though not necessarily through organized religion. For me, it’s more about feeling connected—to nature, to other people, and to something greater than myself. It helps me find purpose, stay grounded during difficult times, and maintain a sense of inner peace. While I don’t follow a strict spiritual practice, I do value reflection, gratitude, and mindfulness as ways to stay spiritually centered.
